For the ninth iteration of Dior’s Lady Art project, Danielle Mckinney has put her own spin on the fashion house’s iconic Lady Dior bag. Inspired by moments of quiet introspection, Mckinney’s design features a hand-embroidered silhouette of a woman. Cocooned in her coat, the subject is visited by a butterfly, which is used to convey the ‘flight of imagination.’

Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo presents Fly on the Wall, the first solo exhibition of Danielle Mckinney in Italy. Featuring a body of paintings made especially by the artist for the occasion, alongside a small selection of existing works, Fly on the Wall presents scenes of women in domestic interiors that explore moments of solitude and introspection. Unaware of the viewer’s gaze and captured with painterly lyricism, the women convey a sense of freedom, opening up opportunities for endless narrative threads.
