Elmgreen & Dragset’s work will be presented in ‘Stillleben mit Gemüse’, a solo exhibition at the Städel Museum, Frankfurt, opening on 26 May 2026.
The exhibition will feature two immersive installations that, together with sculptures and interventions by the artists, will radiate throughout the entire building and into the neighbouring Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung. Entering into dialogue with works of art from the Städel Museum spanning over 700 years, the presentation creates a series of almost-surreal constellations which place visitors at the centre of an immersive visual experience. By redirecting the gaze, Elmgreen & Dragset draw attention to moments that are easily overlooked, creating poetic scenes imbued with equal measures of scepticism and humour.

Elmgreen & Dragset present Handle with Care, a multidimensional project inaugurating Sammlung Goetz’s new temporary exhibition space, ‘Schaufenster’. Presenting work by Elmgreen & Dragset and Richard Prince, among other artists, the exhibition prompts questions concerning vulnerability, identity, and tensions between private and public space. Handle with Care is conceived by Elmgreen & Dragset and curated by Karsten Löckemann.

Work by Elmgreen & Dragset features in the group show Stillness in the storm at Museum Voorlinden, Wassenaar. The exhibition draws works from the Voorlinden collection, featuring works which offer a moment of reflection in a whirling world, and demonstrate that silence can be a source of strength – a gentle, steadfast response to the storms that surround us.

K-BAR, 2024 (permanent installation)
Khao Yai Art Forest
From 1 February 2025
Elmgreen & Dragset have unveiled their latest installation in Khao Yai Art Forest. A homage to the late German artist Martin Kippenberger, K-BAR, 2024, takes the form of a pavilion with a bar inside that opens once a month. The bar’s centerpiece is a painting by Martin Kippenberger, Untitled, 1996, which can always be seen through the window glass. Elmgreen & Dragset have developed a special cocktail menu in collaboration with local bartenders.

Museum in Motion: A Collection for the 21st Century (group show)

Elmgreen & Dragset’s installation Protruding Gallery, Powerless Structures, Fig. 223, 2024, is included in a new presentation of works from the Hamburger Bahnhof’s collection, to commemorate the reopening of the museum’s Rieckhallen. Featuring ten large-scale installations, sculptures and photo series from the last 25 years, the presentation includes new acquisitions which are presented to the public for the first time.
