Long Story Short: An Art History from the Brandhorst Collection from the 1960s to the Present

Works by Rineke Dijkstra, Günther Förg and Albert Oehlen are included in Long Story Short, a group exhibition at Museum Brandhorst, Munich. For the first time since its opening in 2009, the museum is devoting itself to a chronological presentation of the Brandhorst Collection, bringing together selected movements, aesthetic concerns and artistic positions from the 1960s to today to create a sequence of individual art histories.

Rineke Dijkstra’s work features in Cocktail Prolongé: F. C. Gundlach Special, a group exhibition at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg, as part of the 9th Triennial of Photography Hamburg. Bringing together around 300 works from the collection of influential fashion photographer F.C. Gundlach, the exhibition explores the diverse ways in which corporeality can be staged. With an eye to how the body becomes a medium for the portrayal of roles, fantasies, and desires, as well as for articulating critical demands, the exhibition foregrounds themes of queerness, vulnerability and nonconformity.
