Eddie Martinez’ work is included in the group exhibition Let Us Gather in a Flourishing Way at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, later travelling to Des Moines Art Center; Museum of Contemporary Art Denver; Phoenix Art Museum; and Frye Art Museum, Seattle. The exhibition explores contemporary Latinx artists’ innovations and interventions within established traditions of painting, celebrating those whose work interrogates boundaries, from political borders to disciplinary confines. Presenting an intergenerational and regionally broad dialogue on Latinx art, the title of the exhibition is a tribute to the poem of the same name by former U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera.

Work by Eddie Martinez and Julian Schnabel are featured in Super Duper, a group presentation in Gallery Met at The Metropolitan Opera, New York. Curated by Dodie Kazanjian and Donatien Grau, the exhibition brings together twenty artists from multiple generations, each contributing a work that reimagines what superheros might mean today. Collectively, these works probe a provocative question: What does a superhero look like in our time? The exhibition coincides with the world premiere of the opera The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, based on Michael Chabon’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.
