The Städel Museum presents The Lines of Life, a solo exhibition of intimate and time-transcending works by Victor Man. Compositions from the last ten years will be on view, dedicated to the painter’s artistic focus: self-portraits and portraits. In deep dark green, blue, and black, Man creates works as sensitive as they are enigmatic, dominated by an existentialist, sombre and introspective tone. His oeuvre reveals numerous art historical references whilst maintaining a unique position in contemporary painting.
