JEREMY DEPREZ
Jeremy DePrez's paintings and sculptures are always inspired by three-dimensional objects, often deriving from the artist’s direct surrounding, such as his own studio or his neighbourhood. Everyday items like men's shirts, squished aluminium foil or Post-its serve as models for his works. Deeply interested in the impression that a certain object creates when looked at, DePrez examines the condition and structure of things that surround him. In a long-term process he captures their effect and transfers it onto the two-dimensional format, creating abstract works that internalize the essence of their source.
